AFKAR General Trading was established in 1982. The main purpose was to distinguish between the wholesale and retail. "Al-Shaya Perfumes" would focus in retail while "Afkar General Trading" would take care of the imports, distribution to the local market, and export Al-Shaya Perfumes’ products to the Gulf States to ensure quality of services.
The main functions for "Afkar General Trading" are:

    • Oriental Perfumes
    • Western Perfumes and toiletries products.
    • Accessories and gifts.

Afkar General Trading expanded its business in dealing with wide range of suppliers in more than 23 countries. Nowadays, Afkar General Trading covers all areas of Kuwait in terms of distribution and exports to Gulf States. It built with the time its own brand name, which is “AFKAR”.


Company Profile:
AFKAR General Trading has grown with the time and has become a mid sized company with 264 employees on its pay roll. It has more than 3,000 items listed in the system. The company have its own perfume factory in Sabhan Manufacturing area contains 3 floors with areas of production and storage covering 2000 square meters  to cope with local and regional market demand. Likewise, Afkar General Trading has it own storage located in Ardiyah which has 3 floors with total area of 2400 square meters. Afkar General Trading owns more than 50 shops in Kuwait. This is the biggest chain of shops in Kuwait in perfumes field. These shops are prime distribution channels for Afkar’s products, which have been produced in Kuwait or imported from abroad. Also Afkar General Trading expanded in most of the Arabian Gulf countries. In Qatar it have 4 shops in Doha the capital, 7 shops in United Arab emirates (In Dubai, Sharja,  Ras Al-khaima, Al-Fujaira and Al-Ain),1 branch in Kingdom of  Bahrain, 1 branch in Kingdom of  Sudia Arabia and 1 branch in South Africa.
“AFKAR” is the trademark for Afkar General Trading which has lot of its own products specially hair brushes and toiletries


Distribution:
AFKAR General trading uses three channels to distribute their own goods.
1 ) The wholesale market in Kuwait. (seven salesmen cover Kuwait market).
2 ) Co-operative (more than 45 co-operatives in Kuwait).
3) Our own channels (more than 50 branches in Kuwait, 4 branches in Qatar, 1 branch in Kingdom of  Bahrain, and 7 branches in United Arab Emirates, 1 branch in Kingdom of  Sudia Arabia and 1 branch in South Africa).
